Alchemist Mining Appoints Eric Jacobsen to Advisory Board
Vancouver, British Columbia (FSCwire) - ALCHEMIST MINING INC. (CSE: AMS) (the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Jacobsen, M.F.C, B.A., to the Company’s Advisory Board.
Mr. Jacobsen has a cross-sector project management background and has provided strategic direction and vision to projects that range from complex social undertakings with multiple stakeholders to managing the production of feasibility reports for companies such as Siemens Building Technologies, Rentech and Johnson Controls. He has worked in the private sector, for non-governmental organizations, as well as for provincial and federal levels of government and brings with him an understanding of the processes and acumen of each.
With a Master’s Degree in Forest Conservation from the University of Toronto, Mr. Jacobsen has worked in the natural resource sector as a managing consultant for the biofuel industry, as well as an ecosystems analyst for the federal government working to fulfill Canada’s obligations to the United Nations. In these roles, he provided critical stakeholders with high quality analysis of the economic, social and ecological implications of resource development. To these roles, he also brought significant forward-looking innovation. In 2012, as a project manager for Ecostrat/General Biofuel Inc., he introduced and independently developed an entirely new area of consulting for the company in the biogas sector, which has since become a core element of the business.
Mr. Jacobsen has an academic background in both ecological and social sciences and has also provided strategic vision and direction within the NGO space, consulting for innovative land restoration, education and reconciliation projects. In these roles, he has a well-demonstrated track record of creating and grant funding highly impactful projects.
With a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of British Columbia, Mr. Jacobsen has a keen sense of observation and an ability to relate with stakeholders ranging from CEOs of multinational corporations to loggers working in the woods of rural Mississippi. These communication skills have served him from his early career as a social science researcher working on a national multi-latitudinal study with a difficult to access population in the Downtown East Side of Vancouver, through to his consulting work liaising with international scientific and government experts.
To his role as an Advisor for Alchemist Mining, Mr. Jacobsen brings a unique lens of feasibility, scientific rigor, and sociological understanding that has a proven track record of success for the organizations he has served.
