(“Athabasca” or the “Corporation”) (TSX-V:ABM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John Halliwell to the Board of Directors effective November 30, 2017. Mr. Halliwell will be instrumental in providing leadership, business acumen and creativity for Athabasca and its growth strategy.
Mr. Halliwell is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Anacort Capital Inc., a Calgary based investment management firm, and the Managing Director of Grenville Properties Ltd., a real estate holding company.
He has been active on the Board of Directors of a number of publicly traded corporations during the past twenty-five years, including Penn West Petroleum Ltd., Manhattan Resources Ltd., Blackfoot Resources Ltd., and Western Energy Services Ltd, as well as several private corporations.
He previously held management positions in Petro-Canada, most recently as General Manager, Asset Rationalization.
