(TSX-V: CFM) ("Confederation" or the "Company") following the recent appointment of Dr. Carl Hering as President and CEO, wishes to announce additional enhancements to its overall management team. Michael Collins has been appointed as Vice President Exploration and Development. In addition, CFM has also appointed Joe Piekenbrock, MSc and David Beling, PE to its Technical Advisory Board.
Michael, until recently, was the Vice President North America for Mining Plus Canada Ltd., a specialized underground and surface mining engineering consulting company. Over the last 18 years he has developed a strong skill set in mineral exploration, deposit modelling and project development. Michael graduated with a BSc. Honours from Dalhousie University in 1996, and was granted professional status from the APGO in May of 2003 and from APEGBC in March 2012.
Joe Piekenbrock has over 40 years of experience working in the mineral exploration and development sector. Joe has a wealth of experience managing exploration from generative and grassroots discoveries through advanced acquisitions, in both North and South America for Cominco, Placer Dome, Brett Resources and Nova Gold Resources and NovaCopper Inc. (now Trilogy Metals Inc.). Joe is the recipient of the 2015 Colin Spence award for Excellence in Mineral Exploration from AMEBC., and the Thayer Lindsley award in 2009 for his role in the Donlin Creek gold discovery.
David Beling, PE, has over 50 years of experience in the energy and base and precious metal sectors. He is a Registered Professional Mining Engineer specializing in mine development, financing and mine operations. He was initially employed for 14 years by Phelps Dodge, Union Oil, Fluor, United Technologies and Westinghouse and has spent the last 39 years in executive management and consulting with over 25 junior companies. He spearheaded the approval of the first Environmental Impact Statement in 1994 for a mine in Arizona. He is currently the President and CEO of Bullfrog Gold Corp (OTCQB: BFGC) and served on 14 Boards of mining companies since 1981.
The Company is currently re-evaluating the geologic model at its Newman Todd Project, located in the Red Lake District, Ontario, and will update shareholders on exploration plans in the near future. In addition to Newman Todd, CFM is actively pursuing several new, major acquisition opportunities in order to add a significant resource property to its current portfolio.
