VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GT Gold Corp. ("GT Gold" or the "Company") (TSX-V:GTT) is pleased to announce that it has joined the Tahltan and Nisga’a First Nations, the BC Government, AME BC, and industry peers, to establish the BC Regional Mining Alliance (“BC RMA”). The BC RMA is a collaborative effort designed to promote the Golden Triangle area of northwestern B.C. as an attractive destination for mineral exploration and mine development investment. The Golden Triangle hosts many of the most important discoveries and new mines in the province, including GT Gold’s unfolding Saddle discovery (2017), Pretium’s rich new Brucejack Mine, and Imperial Metals’ Red Chris operation.
“We’re very pleased to participate in this worthwhile new initiative”, said Kevin Keough, President & CEO. “Northwestern BC has become exceptionally welcoming of mineral exploration and mine development and, as this alliance shows, there is a common understanding. In our experience the First Nations of northwestern B.C. have gone out of their way to be supportive of our activities. They view mineral exploration and development as key economic drivers supporting self-reliance and the wellbeing of current and future generations.”
A brochure summarizing the BC RMA can be viewed on the Company’s website at www.gtgoldcorp.ca.
In partnership with the BC RMA, the Company will attend the Canadian Mining Symposium (“CMS”) in London, England, on the 24th and 25th of this month. Hosted by the Northern Miner, the CMS has become an important event on the international show calendar, with heavy participation by major U.K. and European financial institutions and funds investing in the resource space, including several important GT Gold shareholders.
