ROUYN-NORANDA, Quebec, Oct. 02, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Radisson Mining Resources Inc. (“Radisson” or the “Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Nieminen as exploration manager (“EM”) of the Company. Mr. Nieminen brings close to 30 years of experience to the Company, having served as a professional geologist in exploration for multiple mining companies and more recently as chief geologist.

Mr. Nieminen is a professional geologist, member of the “Ordre des géologues du Québec” (“OGQ”) who received his Bachelor of Science (Earth Sciences) from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 1990. Since, Richard has worked as a professional geologist in mineral exploration for various companies, and notably as chief geologist at the Bracemac-McLeod Mine. Mr. Nieminen has worked on various projects across Canada, in the United States, and several countries in Africa. Twice, he was a member of a geological team that received the AEMQ Prospector of the Year Award for the discovery of deposits in Quebec (West Ansil in 2005, and Bracemac-McLeod in 2007). Until recently, he has been working as Director of Operations for MRB & Associates, a geological consulting firm.
Mr. Nieminen will be planning, coordinating and controlling all exploration activities of the Company. He will work in collaboration with Tony Brisson, P. Geo, independent consultant and director of the company. Tony Brisson joined Radisson in 2016, since then more than 40,000 m of drilling have been completed with main objective of expanding resources of the O’Brien deposit (See Radisson 95% increase in Indicated resources at the O’Brien gold project). The exploration potential of the O’Brien project was highlighted through these campaigns, especially with the discovery of the Vintage Zone a few meters north of the O’Brien deposit in the Cadillac sediments (North of the Cadillac Break). Mr. Brisson joined the Board of directors of Radisson in June 2018.
The company also announces it has granted 100,000 stock options to its Exploration Manager in accordance with its stock option plan. The options are priced at $ 0.10 and expire on October, 2 2023.
Radisson announces Ms. Catherine Jalbert has resigned from her position as exploration manager to pursue other opportunities. The company would like to thank her for her professionalism and contribution to its exploration activities in 2018. Radisson wishes her the best success in her future endeavours.
