"$3.7bn of Orders" Booked at IIJS Signature

(IDEX Online) - Exhibitors booked $3.7bn of orders at India's flagship trade show, the IIJS Signature, according to initial estimates by the GJEPC (Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council).Over 20,000 visitors attended the four-day India International Jewellery Show at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, in Mumbai, down on the 32,000 forecast by organizers. All but 800 were from India."The recently concluded, IIJS Signature 2023, this years first & largest jewellery trade show, has booked orders worth Rs. 30,000 crore ($3,675,750,000), as per initial estimates," said the GJEPC.Last year's show was canceled at short notice because of ongoing Covid concerns.The highlight of this year's show, with 2,500 stalls and 1,300 exhibitors across six halls, was a gold pendant of  Lord Ganesha (Hindu god of beginnings) weighing 1.3 kg and embellished with 36,000 diamonds.File pic of IIJS
