104-ct Diamond Necklace Sells for $5.9m

(IDEX Online ) - A platinum necklace with 104.84 carats of D-color diamonds sold for $5.9m at Christie's Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels Sale.It was the top lot in an auction that netted a total of over $46m.Just over $11m of that was from the sale of 51 pieces from a collection including Cartier, Buccellati, Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, Louis Vuitton, and Boghossian that belonged to retired Hong Kong actress Rosamund Kwan.The headline necklace (not one of her pieces) comprised 52 round brilliant-cut diamonds of 7.14-ct to 1.07-ct, all flawless to internally flawless clarity, excellent cut, polish and symmetry.
