31-ct Blue Diamonds Leads Christie's Auction

(IDEX Online) - A 31.62-carat fancy blue diamond pendant necklace will lead Christie's Magnificent Jewels auction next month, with an estimate of $10m to $15m.

The pear modified brilliant stone has been graded by GIA as natural color, VVS1 clarity and potentially Internally Flawless.  The color is natural, fancy blue, even.

It is set among round diamonds and pink diamonds in platinum and rose gold.

Another pendant necklace also in the sale, on 6 December, features an 86.64-carat pear brilliant-cut diamond. It is GIA-graded as D color, VVS1 clarity, excellent polish and symmetry, Type IIa.

It's set with 78 pear brilliant-cut diamonds of 2.50 to 0.50 carats, with a total carat weight of 87.73 carats, in platinum and white gold. The estimate is $5m to $7m.
