Sky News host Andrew Bolt says ABC journalists have "falsely, maliciously, and hurtfully" implied he was dismissing or trivialising the actions of a former sports coach at St Kevin's College Melbourne.Bolt suggested his comments were deliberately misrepresented to stir outrage, with the false claim that he said the staff member "only hit on" the St Kevin's student being a "cheap and deceitful attempt" to make people believe he was downplaying the seriousness of the conviction. Mr Bolt said the "word 'only' is completely false". "Nowhere did I say or imply that in some way this disgusting behaviour was a small matter," he said. "Don't be fooled by their outrage. This is not about what I said last night ... This is an excuse for them, this is a weapon".
