$620,000 Lotus Ring Marks Argyle Legacy

(IDEX Online) - The first piece of jewlery from a collection marking the closure of the iconic Argyle mine, in Australia, has been revealed.The rose gold and platinum Argyle Lotus ring is set with 3.34 carats of Argyle pinks, 3.82 carats of white diamonds with a "hidden" 0.12 carat fancy Argyle blue on the underside.The Lotus ring is the first piece of jewelry in the Argyle Heritage Collection, part of the Argyle Pink Diamonds Icon Partner program launched by Rio Tinto, the mine's owner.It was created by Sydney-based J Farren-Price created the piece in collaboration with Glajz, the Singapore-based Arygle diamond specialist. Farren-Price is selling it for $620,000 ($AU930,000).The company said: "This extraordinary collection of rare Argyle pink diamonds is a dream come true. "We are excited to honour the world's most iconic pink diamonds and each creation in the Argyle Heritage Collection will represent the ultimate in rarity and collectability."The Argyle diamond mine, source of the world's highest-quality pink diamonds, closed in November 2020.Pic courtesy Farren-Price.
