8.82-cts Purple-Pink Diamond Could Sell for $6m

(IDEX Online) - An extremely rare 8.82-ct fancy intense purple-pink pear modified brilliant-cut diamond, set in a platinum ring with two smaller stones, is to be auctioned with a high estimate of $6m.It is among the highlights at Christie's Magnificent Jewels auction in New York on 13 April.The Fuchsia Rose diamond (pictured) is certified by GIA as "VVS1 clarity, potentially Internally Flawless, Type IIa".It is set with a pair of pear brilliant-cut diamonds, both 0.61-cts (F/VVS1 and F/VVS2). Estimate $4m to $6m.Christie's is also offering an 11.63-cts VS1 fancy blue cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut diamond, set in a ring with a pair of shield-shaped diamonds. Estimate $2.5m to $3.5m.
