Alrosa Notes Strong Demand at Large-Stone Sale

RAPAPORT... Alrosa sold $14.8 million worth of large rough diamonds atan auction in Vladivostok, the Russian miner said last week. The sale featured 101 special-size stones -those over 10.8 carats - weighing a total of 1,751 carats. "The auction [produced]...very good results, confirming highdemand for this category of rough diamonds," said Evgeny Agureev, director of theUnited Selling Organization (USO) Alrosa.
