Anna Hu Jewels Sell at Christie's Charity Auction

RAPAPORT... Christie's garnered $338,781 from an online charity auction of Anna Hu jewels that will help support the families of health-care workers who lost their lives fighting Covid-19.The sale, which benefited Alrosa's new social-responsibility initiative, Diamonds That Care, featured three pieces by the designer. The Russian miner contributed 500 white and fancy-colored, brown-toned polished diamonds to the collection.A necklace set with a pear brilliant-cut, 27.02-carat, fancy-brown-yellow diamond of VVS1 clarity was the star of the auction, bringing in $291,773 at the July 3 to 13 sale. That piece was estimated at $257,800 to $386,700.The auction house also achieved $27,556 for a pair of earrings containing a pear brilliant-cut, faint-brown M-color, VVS2-clarity diamond weighing 3.01 carats and a pear-shaped, 3.21-carat diamond.
