Appia drills high grade TREO at Alces Lake

SASKATCHEWAN - Toronto-based Appia Energy Corp.'s first diamond drilling program at Alces Lake has returned high grades of total rare earth oxides (TREO). The property, east of Uranium City, returned 10.02% TREO by weight over 3.55 metres.

Appia drilled 15 short holes in three REE zones that it had uncovered at surface during this summer's overburden stripping program. Twelve of the holes intersected REE mineralization, and 10 intersected high grade total and critical REEs.

Three additional occurrences were also discovered within 12 metres of the surface. Hole CH-18-008 in the Charles Lower zone, returned the 10.02% assay. All of the sub-surface zones remain open in all directions. The depth extensions of the Charles, Ivan and Wilson surface zones were traced to between 0.43 and 7.27 metres depth. The Charles N-S subzone pinched off at 1.95 metre below the surface, but it returned high grades - 10.12% TREO by weight over 0.9 metre from hole CH-18-007.

Appia is planning a 3,000-metre drill program at Alces Lake in 2019. A detailed ground gravity survey, overburden stripping, and channel sampling will also be conducted.
