BHP raises fiscal 2018 zinc production guidance at Antamina

BHP has raised the zinc production guidance from its Antamina operation in Peru to around 110,000 tonnes from 100,000 tonnes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018, according to the miner's quarterly report released on Thursday April 19.

The revision comes after zinc production attributable to BHP at Antamina rose 43.5% year on year to 83,817 tonnes of payable metal in concentrate in the nine months to March 2018. BHP has a 33.8% stake in the operation. The increase is due to higher head grades after mining continued through a zinc-rich ore zone consistent with its mine plan, BHP said.
