North Vancouver/Stockholm-based Boreal Metals (TSXV:BMX) announced today it has completed seven diamond drill holes totalling 951 metres of exploratory diamond drill program at its Burfjord copper-gold project in Norway.

In a press release, the miner said that assay results are expected in the coming weeks.

The Burfjord project is comprised of six exploration licenses totaling 5,500 hectares near K??fjord, in northeastern Norway. It hosts numerous high-grade veins with associated copper-rich envelopes developed across an area of approximately 6 by 4 kilometres.

According to Boreal, limited exploration has taken place at the mine in recent times and only one prospect area has been drill-tested to date. Company reports state that the best historical drill intercept consists of seven meters @ 3.6% copper and was obtained from the Cedarsgruve mine area in the northern portion of the claim block.

"The Burfjord project with its high-grade vein and disseminated copper mineralization is an attractive early stage exploration opportunity," Karl Antonius, Boreal's President and CEO, said in the media statement."We look forward to receiving the results of Boreal's first drill program on the property," he added.

Antonius commended Finnish company Arctic Drilling for finishing the work ahead of time and under budget.
