Brazil confirms subsidies but puts no added duties on Chinese HRC

Brazil's foreign trade chamber, Camex, has decided not to impose final trade sanctions against imports of hot-rolled coil (HRC) from China, despite finding confirmation of subsidy practices.

In a meeting held by Camex's ministers on Monday May 21, the chamber applied five-year anti-subsidy duties varying from $196.49 per tonne to $425.22 per tonne on Chinese HRC (see table), but then suspended the measures due to "public interest."Camex has made it clear that the suspension of the right to...
