CHINA REBAR: Domestic prices rise as futures open higher

China's domestic rebar prices maintained their upward trend on Thursday May 3 following positive futures in the morning trading session.

Domestic Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,060-4,100 yuan ($638-644) per tonne, up 40 yuan per tonneNorthern China (Beijing): 3,910-3,940 yuan per tonne, up 40 yuan per tonneThe most-traded October rebar futures contract rose above Wednesday's settlement price of 3,695 yuan per tonne in the morning before later retreating.Meanwhile, some small rebar producers in Jiangsu remain closed for environmental inspections, causing spot market concerns over lower supply...
