CHINA REBAR: Prices down on weak demand, futures losses

China's rebar prices fell in both the domestic and export markets on Monday March 19 amid declining futures and weak demand.

Domestic Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,730-3,800 yuan ($589-600) per tonne, down 50-60 yuan per tonne Northern China (Beijing): 3,870-3,900 yuan per tonne, down 30 yuan per tonne Rebar futures fell sharply in the first few minutes of trading, which led to a deterioration of sentiment in the spot market.
