COKING COAL DAILY: Seaborne prices steady amid thin trading

Spot prices for seaborne coking coal held steady on Tuesday October 16 amid few active offers, and even fewer bids.

"Sellers will try to hold on to their cargoes in anticipation of a new round of restocking in mid-November," a southern Chinese mill source said."Expectations of domestic coking coal prices rising further by another 50-100 yuan ($7.20- $14.40) per tonne in the next month to come will discourage traders from lowering their offers too soon," he added.A trading source in Beijing said that he was not actively offering any cargoes for sale, but noted that end users in Hebei province did not appear too enthusiastic about procuring materials in the seaborne market either.The end users are...
