Canada Bourse to Offer 4Cs Grading

RAPAPORT...  The Diamond Bourse of Canada (DBC) will start offeringin-house 4Cs grading certification and appraisal services, it said Wednesday. Lou Berdusco (pictured), a Gemological Institute ofAmerica (GIA) graduate gemologist with more than 30 years of experience,will provide the services, which will be similar to those that majorlaboratories such as the GIA offer, the exchange said. Both DBC members and non-members can send diamonds in forcertification, the bourse added, although they will pay different fees. Additionally,the service is open to individual consumers who want a single stone graded, aswell as for jewelry businesses and diamantaires submitting large parcels. Customers can either bring stones directly to the bourse forgrading and pick them up, or they can send and receive their diamonds bycourier. The lab will open on June 4 in the center of Toronto's diamonddistrict.
