China AM: Ferrous futures largely steady after Wednesday gains

China's ferrous futures ended morning trading little changed from their opening prices on Thursday April 19, apart from the hot-rolled coil contract, after posting strong gains a day earlier.

Futures closing prices - morning session Shanghai Futures Exchange October rebar: 3,494 yuan ($556.20) per tonne, up 4 yuan per tonne October hot-rolled coil: 3,624 yuan per tonne, up 24 yuan per tonne Dalian Commodity Exchange September iron ore: 468 yuan per tonne, up 3 yuan per tonne September coking coal: 1,151 yuan per tonne, down 2 yuan per tonne September coke: 1,867 yuan per tonne, down 4.50 yuan per tonne Raw materials BHP produced 10.4 million tonnes of metallurgical coal in the January-March period, up 2% from the corresponding period a year earlier, it said in a production update on Thursday.
