Chinese stainless steel mills differ on March ferro-chrome tender prices

Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Tisco), Tsingshan Group and Baosteel - China's leading stainless steel mills - have released their March tender prices for high-carbon ferro-chrome over the last two weeks, with Tisco maintaining its price while Tsingshan and Baosteel increased theirs by 100 yuan ($14.90) per tonne.

Tisco announced its March tender price for high-carbon ferro-chrome at 6,650 yuan ($990) per tonne on February 20, flat month on month.All Tisco cargoes should be delivered to plants no later than April 15, while the procurement volume shrank due to maintenance on one of the company's production lines, one source said. Then on Monday February 25, Tsingshan Group released its high-carbon ferro-chrome tender price for March at 6,996 yuan per tonne, up 100 yuan per tonne from the February tender price, with delivery no later than April 10 and procurement volumes unchanged.
