Coca-Cola, Cisco Systems Earnings in Focus Next Week

Earnings season will continue to roll along next week. Leading the pack are blue chips Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO) and Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), alongside other notables including Under Armour Inc (NYSE:UAA), PepsiCo, Inc. (NASDAQ:PEP), and Deere & Company (NYSE:DE). On the economic front, Wall Street will digest the latest round of inflation data -- a hot topic of late -- on top of monthly retail sales.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

The monthly Treasury budget will kick off the week on Monday, Feb. 12, followed by a rather quiet day of earnings.Diamond Offshore Drilling (DO) is among the names expected to report.

On Tuesday, Feb. 13, Cleveland Fed President Loretta Mester will speak in the morning, while the economic calendar is relatively bare. Earnings will continue on with Blue Apron (APRN), Martin Marietta Materials (MLM), MetLife (MET), Pepsi (PEP), TransUnion (TRU), Twilio (TWLO), Under Armour (UAA), and Western Union (WU).

Wednesday, Feb. 14, is a busy day, with theconsumer price index (CPI), monthly retail sales, and weekly crude inventories all set for release, as well as data on business inventories. Cisco Systems (CSCO), Applied Materials (AMAT),Barrick Gold (ABX), CenturyLink (CTL),Dr Pepper Snapple (DPS), Goldcorp (GG), Groupon (GRPN), Hilton(HLT), Hyatt(H), Kinross Gold (KGC), LendingClub (LC), Marathon Oil (MRO), Marriott (MAR), NetApp (NTAP), Shire (SHPG), SodaStream (SODA), SunPower (SPWR), and TripAdvisor (TRIP) are slated for earnings reports.

Thursday, Feb. 15, is the busiest day of the week, with weekly jobless claims, the Fed's balance sheet, the producer price index (PPI), the Philadelphia Fed business survey, and data on industrial production due. In terms of earnings, Acorda Therapeutics (ACOR), Avon Products (AVP), CBS Corp (CBS), CyberArk Software (CYBR), Shake Shack (SHAK), Shopify (SHOP),Yamana Gold (AUY), and Yandex N.V. (YNDX) are due.

Housing starts, as well as data on consumer sentiment and import and export prices, will be released on Friday, Feb. 16. For earnings, Coca-Cola (KO), Campbell Soup (CPB), Deere (DE), J M Smucker (SJM), Kraft Heinz (KHC), Newell Brands (NWL), and V.F. Corp (VFC) are expected to report.
