(IDEX Online) - Organizers of Britain's biggest trade show, International Jewellery London, have announced they will not hold a 2021 edition because of COVID-19, having already canceled this year's event.The 2020 show was due to have taken place at Alexandra Palace, London, on 9 June.Reed Exhibitions says cancelling IJL 2021 was an "even more difficult decision" than pulling the plug on the 2020 show.IJL attracts more jewelry retailers than any other trade event in Britain and is a must-attend for many foreign visitors.Reed said in a statement: "Both the UK live events and jewellery industries are in uncertain positions and whilst we are confident that they will return in due course, a combination of these factors have led us to this decision. "We have made this announcement at an early stage to give clarity to all of our partners as they continue to navigate this global pandemic."File pic shows ILJ 2019
