(IDEX Online) - India is to host its first major gem and jewelry trade show since the start of the Covid pandemic.Visitors to India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Signature 2021 in April will only be admitted on production of a recent negative Covid-19 report. The show, expected to attract over 750 exhibitors, signals a return to "business as usual" after a year in which virtually all shows across the world were forced online. The 14th edition of the show, organized by the GJEPC, runs from 2nd to 7th April 2021 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai. It has been extended from its usual four days to six, to prevent crowding, and will take place with strict Covid rules.India's biggest show for the jewelry trade was originally postponed from August 2020 to January 2021 because of COVID-19.Colin Shah, GJEPC chairman, said: "It has been more than a year since the industry witnessed a physical show of the magnitude of IIJS Signature. Owing to demand from all segments of the trade, GJEPC is organising IIJS Signature in physical form."Pic shows the IIJS show in 2019
