The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Friday was a 78-78-134 draw. The TSX Venture Exchange fell four points to 830 while polished diamond prices fell 1.6 per cent. Chris Taylor's Dunnedin Ventures Inc. (DVI) rose four cents to 30.5 cents on 1.06 million shares. The company is spinning off its gold assets to focus on diamond exploration at Kahuna, north or Rankin Inlet in Nunavut.

Matthew Wood's Five Star Diamonds Ltd. (STAR), down one-half cent to 22.5 cents on 106,000 shares, has recovered over 400 diamonds so far from its M3 kimberlite on the Maravilha diamond project in Minas Gerais, Brazil. These are preliminary results from the one-tonne batch of kimberlite that the company collected in what it calls a "bulk sample" of the pipe. The recoveries progressed slowly: Late last year, the company said that it had recovered seven diamonds from its first look at the concentrate prepared from the test.
