The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a weak 67-89-134. The TSX Venture Exchange gained 13 points to 829 while rough diamond prices were flat. Lukas Lundin and Eira Thomas's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) dropped 11 cents to $2.28 on 2.58 million shares. The stock jumped as high as $2.69 this week on word of a management shuffle and a plan to acquire a rough diamond digital sales platform.
James Bruchs and Dr. Michiel de Wit's Tsodilo Resources Ltd. (TSD), down 10 cents to 55 cents on 21,000 shares, is processing its bulk sample of the BK-16 kimberlite in Botswana. The company completed 2,769 metres of large diameter drilling last year and extracted 2,008.6 tonnes of kimberlite. About 30 per cent of that rock had been ground to fine shrapnel by the equipment, leaving Tsodilo with 1,441.5 tonnes of kimberlite chips larger than a one-millimetre cut-off. The company began processing that material through its dense media separation plant in mid-January.
