The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a bleak 53-108-129. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 18 points to 784 while polished diamond prices inched higher. Dr. Stewart Blusson's Archon Minerals Ltd. (ACS) jumped 28 cents to $1.15 on 7,000 shares, the first day a board lot has traded since early February. Dr. Blusson owns most of Archon's stock and the company's exploration program is about as active as its stock.

Patrick Power and Scott Eldridge's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD), down one cent to 15.5 cents on 363,000 shares, has completed a five-hole drill program at its new Grey Wolf kimberlite on the Timantti project in Finland. Arctic Star said in late February that it had discovered Grey Wolf under very thin overburden on the core Timantti block while it had been collecting basal till samples. Arctic Star immediately extracted a 150-kilogram batch of kimberlite for microdiamond recovery. The company quickly moved a drill to the site and knocked off a modest drill program.
