EUROPE ALLOY STEEL SCRAP: Prices weaken on nickel fall

The price range for austenitic alloy steel scrap imported into mainland Europe fell by ?,?20 per tonne week-on-week on Friday February 9, after the nickel price weakened sharply.

Metal Bulletin's weekly price assessment on Friday for 18/8 stainless steel solids imported into mainland Europe was ?,?1,120-1,150 ($1,373-1,410) per tonne cif main European ports, compared with ?,?1,140-1,170 per tonne cif on February 2.The London Metal Exchange three-month official nickel bid/offer spread was $12,995/13,000 per tonne on February 9.
