EUROPE CRC: Transaction prices stable, expected to rise

Domestic prices for cold-rolled coil (CRC) in Europe have been largely stable over the past seven days but are expected to rise soon, sources told Fastmarkets this week.

Transaction prices are expected to slowly rise, supported by upward momentum in hot-rolled coil feedstock prices, according to market participants, after some European steelmakers - including ArcelorMittal - increased their official offers, pushing up lat steel prices by ?,?30 ($34) per tonne at the end of January.Those rises coincided with the European Commission's imposition of definitive safeguard measures, in the form of quota-based tariffs on...
