(In association with Quantumrock) Professional investors are being offered a new and lucrative opportunity to put their capital into rough emeralds and ultra-rare alexandrite.Quantumrock, an pioneering investment solutions company, says it aims to achieve value increases in excess of 25 per cent a year, over a two-year term.It has launched what it describes as the first structured, professional investment-grade and publicly-traded gemstone investment product. The company says its Rough Gemstone I Secured Certificates, officially listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (Euro MTF Market), make it possible for the first time to invest in the value creation of polishing colored gemstones, without the usual risk and expense."With a targeted investment horizon of 24 months, Quantumrock aims to deliver substantial returns north of 25 per cent per year, making the certificate an attractive proposition for those seeking to diversify their portfolio," it says. The investment certificates, launched earlier this month, are aimed at professional investors, high-net-worth individuals and family offices. There is an excellent market outlook for the ancient asset class, the company says, especially among the rarest gemstones. But it has always been a "formidable challenge" for individual investors to enter the market, and it has been virtually impossible for them to acquire rough stones or the expertise needed to appraise them.Quantumrock says it removes those barriers. Its investment structure has been seeded with a fully-appraised stock of rough emeralds and alexandrite valued at $125m.Emeralds are 20 times rarer than diamonds and can fetch higher prices per carat.Alexandrite, first discovered in Russia's Ural mountains in the 1830s, is even rarer. It is known for its remarkable color-changing property, from vibrant green in daylight to a rich red under incandescent light.Stefan Tittel, CEO and founder of Quantumrock, said: "In a world where traditional investments are becoming increasingly unpredictable, we are excited to present professional investors with an opportunity that combines a new asset class with the sophistication of modern investment structures."This development reflects our unwavering commitment to offering the world's first listed professional investment product in the world of coloured gemstones."The global gemstone market is growing fast and is anticipated to reach $56bn in 2033.It is projected to achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.6 per cent from 2023 to 2033, compared to 4.1 per cent from 2018 to 2022."By providing a direct entry point into the lucrative realm of gemstone polishing, the certificate introduces a fresh and profitable asset class to professional investors," says Quantumrock.Etienne Schneider, former deputy prime minister of Luxembourg and an advisor to Quantumrock, says the company "has always been at the forefront of introducing innovative investment solutions, the gemstone investment certificates are the next evolution in that legacy."Pic shows rough emeralds
