Eramet's manganese ore output climbs 22% in 2017

Eramet produced a record 4.1 million tonnes of manganese ore in 2017, compared with 3.41 million tonnes in 2016, the company said in its annual results on Wednesday February 21.

The French miner attributed the rise in output mainly to efforts in making the TransGabonese railway line in Gabon more reliable, which enabled its subsidiary COMILOG to achieve a record level of 4.1 million tonnes of manganese ore produced and transported in 2017, versus a target of 4.0 million tonnes.Its output of manganese alloys was 716,000 tonnes last year, up 2% from 702,000 tonnes in 2016.Manganese...
