RAPAPORT... Firestone Diamonds has unearthed a 72-carat rough yellowstone from its Liqhobong mine in Lesotho, along with two other largegem-quality diamonds. The miner also found a white stone weighing 22 carats and an11-carat, fancy-light-pink diamond, it said Monday. "It was a good weekend for us, recovering the 72-caratdiamond as well as the two smaller, high-quality stones from within the northern,lower-grade part of the pit," said Firestone CEO Paul Bosma. The diamonds follow the miner's discovery of a gem-quality,70-carat stone earlier this year, which it sold in March for a record overallprice for a diamond from the Liqhobong mine. All three stones will be for sale at the company's nexttender, which will take place in May. "These recoveries will certainly assist in supporting theaverage value of the next sale," Bosma added. Firestone's stock rose more than 6% Monday morning followingthe announcement.Image: The 72-carat yellow diamond. (Firestone Diamonds)
