Metal Bulletin's Chinese domestic spot ferro-silicon (basis 75% silicon) prices increased by 200 yuan per tonne on the low end and 400 yuan per tonne on the high end to 6,400-6,800 yuan ($1,010-$1,073.19) per tonne on May 11. According to sources, the market has been buoyed by short-covering against an expected short supply of ferro-silicon in the coming weeks. "Most of the stock build-up had been consumed at the end of April and most are quoting 6,400 yuan per tonne and more," a producer said....
