(IDEX Online) - GSI is to offer grading reports which identify enhancements to lab-grown diamondsIt says the move will increase consumer confidence by providing buyers with reliable information. The New York-based laboratory says that unlike other labs, it will disclose whether a diamond has undergone post-growth treatments or enhancements.Their reports include the same essential information as natural diamond grading reports, but clearly identify that the diamond is lab-grown."Consumer confidence is key and consumers want more information and complete transparency about the natural and lab-grown diamonds they are buying," said Debbie Azar, president and co-founder of GSI (Gemological Science International). The LGX Complete reports will indicate if a diamond was produced by HPHT (High-Pressure High Temperature) or CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) process and whether it is "As Grown" or has been enhanced.
