Global manganese supply up 43% y-o-y in January

World manganese ore supply totaled 1.74 million tonnes of manganese units in January, an increase of 43% from year-ago volumes, according to the International Manganese Institute (IMnI).

The increase reflects production cuts in the comparable period, while the 6% decline in output from December 2017 illustrates the strength of production in the month before, the IMnI said. World demand rose 18.4% year on year to 1.69 million tonnes, and 2.4% from December. This...
