New York spot gold fell $10.10 to $1,335.20 on Friday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 2.86 points to 804.96 while the TSX Gold Index slipped 0.22 point to 191.79. Canadian gold miners moved little today. Endeavour Mining Corp. (EDV) fell 25 cents to $21.62 on 299,000 shares while Osisko Gold Royalties Inc. (OR) added 10 cents to $12.58 on 446,000 shares.

Dustin Angelo's Anaconda Mining Inc. (ANX), down 1.5 cents to 37.5 cents on 103,000 shares, has received assays of up to 11.27 grams of gold per tonne over 13.5 metres at its Goldboro project in Nova Scotia. The assays are from another five holes of the company's 30-hole drill program that began last fall. All five holes encountered gold, with a 10.55-gram-per-tonne hit over 6.1 metres in a second hole and 7.22 grams per tonne over 6.5 metres in a third. Mr. Angelo, president and chief executive officer, says that the results continue to prove that mineralization extends in all directions in both the EG and BR systems, with the new hits producing typical grades and thicknesses accompanied by "sweet spots" that are among the best found at Goldboro so far.
