New York spot gold fell $15.20 to $1,317.70 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 11.69 points to 815.18 while the TSX Gold Index dropped 4.55 points to 180.01. Detour Gold Corp. (DGC) led Canadian gold miners lower today, dropping 67 cents to $11.88 on 2.37 million shares. Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) tumbled as well, falling $1.97 to $49.30 on 1.99 million shares.

John Burzynski's Osisko Mining Inc. (OSK), down 15 cents to $2.72 on 1.61 million shares, has received assays of up to 71.9 grams of gold per tonne over 2.9 metres from the Lynx 2 zone at its Windfall Lake gold project in the Urban district of Quebec. The latest assays are from over 20 new tests completed as infill and expansion drilling on the Lynx deposit. There were plenty of high-grade hits, including 76.4 grams per tonne over 2.4 metres, 52.5 grams per tonne over 2.1 metres and 52.3 grams per tonne over 2.1 metres. Osisko will have many more assays to come: The company has completed over 500,000 metres of drilling in a bit more than two years, but it plans a total of 800,000 metres of drilling before the program wraps up.
