Just as the dictatorship in East Germany was brought down by a revolt of citizens in 1989, there is a similar process underway in western Europe today, a growing reaction against inflation and a war economy which benefits only the super-wealthy and their global cartels. The opportunity in 1989 for cooperation for development among sovereign states was lost, as the cartels used hybrid warfare to consolidate a global, unipolar order. That order is collapsing today, giving us another chance.
