Home Depot, Wal-Mart Headline Busy Week of Retail Earnings

Wall Street will be busy in the last full week before the Thanksgiving holiday. In the lead-up to November options expiration on Friday, a number of Fed officials are slated to speak throughout the week, while several high-profile economic reports -- including retail sales and the consumer price index (CPI) -- are due. Additionally, several Dow components will take their late-season turn on the earnings stage, with Home Depot Inc (NYSE:HD) and Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT) set to extend a recent run of retail earnings.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

The economic calendar is bare on Monday, Nov. 13. Earnings from Tyson Foods (TSN) and JD.com (JD) will be released.

The final demand reading for October's producer price index (PPI) hits the Street on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Additionally, Chicago Fed President Charles Evans and St. Louis Fed President James Bullard are due to speak. Home Depot (HD), Advance Auto Parts (AAP), Beazer Homes (BZH), Celsion (CLSN), Cheniere Energy (LNG), Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS), JinkoSolar (JKS), Stratasys (SSYS), and TJX Companies (TJX) will step into the earnings confessional.

Evans will take the stage again on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Also in focus will be the CPI, retail sales data, the weekly crude inventories update, the Empire State manufacturing survey, and business inventories. Cisco Systems (CSCO), Children's Place (PLCE), Digital Ally (DGLY), JA Solar (JASO), L Brands (LB), Meritor (MTOR), NetApp (NTAP), and Target (TGT) will report earnings.

Weekly jobless claims, the Philadelphia Fed business outlook survey, import and export prices, and industrial production data will be released on Thursday, Nov. 16. Fed Governor Lael Brainard, Cleveland Fed President Loretta Mester, and Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan will take the mic. Earnings from Wal-Mart (WMT), Applied Materials (AMAT), Best Buy (BBY), Gap (GPS), Helmerich & Payne (HP), J M Smucker (SJM), Ross Stores (ROST), Splunk (SPLK), and Viacom (VIAB) will be released.

Brainard will make her way back to the podium on Friday, Nov. 17. Housing starts and building permits are also due. Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF), Buckle (BKE), Foot Locker (FL), and Hibbett Sports (HIBB) will round out the week's earnings reports.
