RAPAPORT... The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has rescheduled its trade shows for the second time, as coronavirus-related restrictions continue. The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show will now take place from August 3 to 6, the company said last week. The events, which were originally scheduled for March, had already been delayed once to May. Due to the compulsory quarantine for people entering Hong Kong, "overseas exhibitors and buyers would have great difficulty joining [the show] in May as originally scheduled," the HKTDC noted. The company has launched a virtual expo that will continue through the end of April, in which suppliers can connect with buyers. The HKTDC will also provide business-matching services with video conferences for any buyers who will not be able to attend the August fair."We hope that the online promotion together with the physical exhibitions in August can complement each other and maximize synergy," HKTDC added.Image: Booths at the September 2019 Hong Kong fairs.
