INDIA IMPORT SCRAP: Prices continue steady downtrend, but market improves by week-end

Prices for containerized shredded scrap imports into India moved downward again this week despite trading conditions improving by the end of the period, market sources told Metal Bulletin on Friday April 13.

Metal Bulletin's weekly index for containerized imports of shredded scrap into India was $381.27 per tonne cfr Nhava Sheva on April 13, down by $4.72 per tonne week-on-week, compared with $385.99 per tonne cfr last week. It was the fourth consecutive week to show a fall in price.Shredded scrap was said to be available at $380-385 per tonne cfr Nhava Sheva on Friday, with deals heard at the end of the week at $382 per tonne cfr for 12,000-13,000 tonnes of material and at $380-385 per tonne cfr for 500 tonnes of UK-origin material.Shredded scrap deals concluded earlier in the week were heard at $370-375 per tonne cfr...
