India cabinet approves policy to boost oil output from old fields

NEW DELHI, Sept 12 (Reuters) -

* Indian cabinet on Wednesday approved a policy to provide fiscal incentives for oil recovery from matured fields by implementing better techniques - Oil Minister

* Indian cabinet approves raising local purchase prices of ethanol by up to 25 percent. Increased ethanol blending in petrol would help reduce import dependency and provide support to farm sector among others - Oil Minister

* Indian cabinet approves plan to electrify 13,675 kms of rail routes, costing 120 billion rupees ($1.67 billion), by 2021/22 to cut dependence on imported fuel - Rail Minister

* Indian cabinet approves a new policy for local purchases of some crops - Farm Minister ($1 = 72.0300 Indian rupees)
