(IDEX Online) - Hundreds of traders crowded the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) for the first Blue and White fair since lockdown restrictions were imposed more than a year ago.Among the 50 industry leaders exhibiting on the trading hall at Ramat Gan were Tache, Lili Diamonds, S. Schnitzer and Andre Messika.Almost all coronavirus restrictions have now been lifted in Israel after a vaccination program drastically reduced infection rates.IDE said tens of millions of dollars' worth of goods were sold at the fair, which is usually held every few months.  It also said the fair marked a return to "normal activity"."It is the first diamond show globally in over a year, coming after such a significant slowdown in trade," said Meira Weisberg, chairman of the IDE exhibitions committee."Today we witnessed a sharp rebound from the pandemic slump and could feel the high demand for diamonds that we've seen in recent trade data."IDE is also planning exhibitions in New York and Dubai in coming months.
