JA Hires Duo to Improve Engagement

RAPAPORT... Jewelers of America (JA) has hired two consultants who willfocus on enhancing the US trade association's communications with members andconsumers.  Elizabeth Brewer - who was previously in charge ofmarketing for deBoulle Jewelers, as well as the American Gem Trade Association -will work on improving the JA's membership engagement, it said last week. Mark Smelzer, the publisher of JCK (pictured), will work on developinga marketing initiative targeting consumers, which the organization plans tolaunch in 2019. "The addition of Elizabeth and Mark in consultant roles willplay a big part in our continued commitment to membership growth and consumermarketing, which are essential to our mission to improve confidence in thejewelry industry," JA CEO David Bonaparte said.
