JGW Trade Show Moves from Covid-Hit Hong Kong to Singapore

(IDEX Online) - Hong Kong's Jewellery & Gem World (JGW) trade show will relocate to Singapore in September, where Covid restrictions are less stringent.Organizers Informa Markets Jewellery said the new venue would be more accessible.Hong Kong currently bans flights from nine countries including the United States and Britain, operates a "dynamic zero" strategy to curb infections and has been suffering a surge in Covid deaths in recent weeks.The show was originally planned for 16 to 19 September 2022 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.Its replacement, JGW Singapore, will be held from 27 to 30 September at Singapore EXPO."The last two years have been extremely challenging for everybody," said David Bondi, senior vice president of Informa Markets in Asia.
