Jeweler Satta Matturi Joins RJC Board

The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) has appointed industry veteran Satta Matturi to its board of directors.Matturi, who founded and runs the brand Matturi Fine Jewellery, also has a consultancy business offering business advice to the trade, including on rough procurement and polished sourcing. Earlier in her career, she spent 17 years working in diamond sales and rough valuation, the RJC said Wednesday.Through her jewelry, Matturi aims to improve diversity and dismantle social and economic barriers around access to the industry. She is involved in mentorship and charitable programs within the jewelry and design sector and in diamond-producing countries."[Matturi] and her brand represent the values that are close to the RJC's heart: gender equality, diversity, inclusiveness, and the implementation of responsible and sustainable business practices," said RJC interim director John Hall.
