KODIAK COPPER TEMPORARILY PAUSES DRILL PROGRAM AT MPD DUE TO FLOODING AND ROAD CLOSURES

Work has been temporarily suspended at Kodiak Copper Corp.'s MPD copper-gold porphyry project in Southern British Columbia following an evacuation order for the town of Merritt due to flooding. Personnel has been safely demobilized, and there is no risk to Kodiak's project infrastructure.

The 2021 drill program is substantially complete, and 21,675 metres have been drilled. Work will be resumed when the evacuation order is lifted and it is safe to do so. For 2022, a drill program of over 25,000 metres is planned, and drilling will commence in first quarter.

Claudia Tornquist, president and chief executive officer of Kodiak, said: "Two thousand twenty-one has been a year of exceptionally challenging weather conditions. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the heavy rains and floods in British Columbia. Special thanks to the first responders and emergency support services who are working hard to help others."
