Mines ranked as best public college in Colorado

Mines ranked as best public college in ColoradoColorado School of Mines was ranked 19th among public colleges in the United States and first among public colleges in Colorado in a 2018 list by Buffalo Business First, a sister publication to the Denver Business Journal.

Business First used a 22-part formula to develop their rankings, incorporating data such as admissions selectivity, retention and graduation rates, alumni earnings, tuition and housing costs and campus diversity.

Mines was the only university in Colorado to break the top 50 in the national rankings. Business First highlighted Mines' 92.2 percent retention rate and the $82,100 median annual earnings for students 10 years after entering school.

Mines was also ranked fifth among schools in the West, which includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
